Learn these SEO basics

SEO

With so many rules and best practices to follow, mastering Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can feel like a full-time job. But the reality is SEO is easier than you think. Here are a few points to consider when writing content for the Web:

First, strive for unique content. Did you know Google will not rank a site highly if there is duplicated content? In addition to originality, you’ll want to aim for quality. Web content should be conversational and to the point.

Next, don’t underestimate the power of link building to boost your rank. To start, offer links to other reputable websites, along with your own links. Know that quality trumps quantity. One good link is worth five mediocre ones.

Social media is another way to drive traffic to your site and improve search rankings. Google Plus is particularly effective because it’s part of Google’s ecosystem and can provide more visibility.

Last, don’t forget about accessibility. There needs to be a clear structure to your website, so that all content can be archived. Otherwise, you may risk losing rank on Google searches.

Keep in mind that SEO is a process, not a destination. Improving your ranking will not happen overnight. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not worth the work. You need to put in the time to see results. If you’re looking for some pointers, we’re happy to help! Let us help your stand out in today’s ever competitive digital marketplace!
