Create content worth sharing

Content and Rocket taking off

What’s the point of creating social content if no one sees it? Companies are eager to see ROI; however they might not realize their shortcomings when it comes to gaining traction on social media. The good news is there are actions you can take to attract more eyeballs to your page. Here are a few tips:

Know your audience. Instead of taking a sales-focused approach, opt for a softer take. Spend some time studying what your audience is discussing, as well as the type of content they tend to share. Then try to create content that might appeal to their lifestyle.

Inform, entertain or appeal to emotions. Know that while educational content can be effective, most people would prefer to be entertained. That doesn’t mean you can’t take a hybrid approach. Also, if you are able to develop content that pulls at heart strings, you have a much better chance of that content being shared.

Make it easy to share. Make sure your social sharing buttons are easy to locate in your content.

Think visual. Regardless of personal interests, people are naturally drawn to images. In fact, visual content has been found to be more effective than many other types of mediums, including text and even video.

Don’t forget a call to action. First, define and refine a strategy. For example, do you want your readers to comment, like or share? Whatever it is that you want your readers to do, don’t be afraid to spell it out.
